REDS-BRAVES

ATLANTA (AP) -- Jay Bruce powered two long triples, Marlon Byrd broke out of his slump and Zack Cozart had three hits to lead the Reds to an 8-4 victory over the Atlanta Braves on Saturday night.

Jason Marquis (3-1) pitched effectively against the team that drafted him in 1996, going 6 1-3 innings, giving up three runs and striking out four.

Eric Stultz (1-2) tookd the loss, giving up six runs, including home runs to Byrd and Todd Frazier.

Bruce hit a two-run triple in the fifth inning and scored after his triple in the fourth. It was the first time the seven-year veteran has hit two in a game.

Byrd, who entered the game hitting .163, went 2-for-3, with a walk and the homer. He also made a diving catch in left field.

BLUE JAYS-INDIANS

CLEVELAND (AP) -- Jose Bautista drove in four runs and the Toronto Blue Jays kept reigning AL Cy Young winner Corey Kluber winless on the season with an 11-4 victory over the Cleveland Indians on Saturday.

Kluber (0-4) allowed five runs and eight hits in five-plus innings. The Indians have lost all of his six starts this season.

Bautista's two-run single in the fifth broke a 2-2 tie and Russell Martin homered in the fourth. Kluber was pulled after Kevin Pillar's leadoff double in the sixth when Toronto scored six unearned runs.

Kluber was 18-9 with a 2.44 ERA last season, earning him a five-year, $38 million contract extension. The right-hander has allowed 17 runs and 31 hits over 17 1-3 innings in his last three starts.

Aaron Sanchez (2-2) allowed two runs in 5 2-3 innings despite walking six. Martin had three hits while Edwin Encarnacion drove in two runs.

UNPREDICTABLE BULLS

CHICAGO (AP) -- The Chicago Bulls are about to face LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference semifinals, and even they aren't quite sure which team will show up.

That's because they were as inconsistent as anyone during the season.

The ups and downs continued in the first round against Milwaukee, so good luck trying to figure out which version of the Bulls will take to the court in Cleveland on Monday night.

Will it be the one that dropped Game 5 at home against the Bucks? Or the one that delivered one of the most lopsided playoff beatings ever in Game 6 at Milwaukee?

Mike Dunleavy Jr. acknowledges the Bulls have been "up and down" for a variety of reasons.

MLS-CREW-UNITED

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Fabian Espindola had a goal and an assist in D.C. United's 2-0 win over the Columbus Crew on Saturday night, moving them into a tie for first place in the MLS.

Espindola opened the scoring in the 15th minute, finishing Chris Rolfe's end-to-end break with a left-footed shot past Crew goalkeeper Steve Clark. Sean Franklin volleyed home Espindola's corner kick in the 41st minute to make it 2-0.

United (5-1-2) won their second straight game, extending their unbeaten streak to six. It's the best eight-game start in franchise history.

Federico Higuain narrowly missed a header in the 53rd minute for the Crew (3-3-2), who had a four-game unbeaten streak snapped.

Bill Hamid recorded his fourth shutout in six starts. It was his first action since suffering a thigh injury April 11.

DRAFT-BENGALS

CINCINNATI (AP) -- The Bengals picked troubled Southern California defensive back Josh Shaw with their first pick of the fourth round on Saturday.

Shaw was suspended by the Trojans for 10 games early in the 2014 season after he suffered ankle injuries by jumping from a second-story balcony while evading police. He then claimed he was hurt while trying to save a drowning nephew.

The 6-foot, 201-pound Shaw was the 21st pick in the fourth round, 120th overall. Shaw mostly played cornerback at USC but he started three games at free safety in 2013.

Cincinnati picked offensive tackles Cedric Ogbuehi (Texas A&M) and Jake Fisher (Oregon) with its first two picks before taking Rutgers tight end Tyler Kroft and Texas Christian inside linebacker Paul Dawson in the first three rounds on Thursday and Friday.

DRAFT-BENGALS-SMITH

CINCINNATI (AP) -- Ball-hawking Fresno State safety Derron Smith and high-scoring West Virginia wide receiver Mario Alford are the Bengals final two draft picks of 2015.

The 5-10, 200-pound Smith, picked in the sixth round Saturday, was first-team All-Mountain West Conference each of the last three seasons and ended his career with 15 interceptions. He finished second on the team with 93 tackles in 2014 and racked up 259 in his career.

Cincinnati closed out the draft by choosing Alford with the 21st pick in the seventh round and the 238th overall selection. The 5-8, 180-pound Alford led the Big 12 with 11 touchdown receptions while logging 65 catches for 945 yards.

Smith and Alford were the Bengals' fourth and fifth picks on Saturday, joining USC cornerback Josh Shaw, Arizona State defensive end Marcus Hardison and Auburn tight end C.J. Uzomah.

DRAFT-BROWNS

BEREA, Ohio (AP) -- The Browns finally drafted a wide receiver, but ignored a quarterback.

On the final day of the NFL draft, the Browns stuck with their plan to build from within and added seven more players. And for the first time in two seasons, general manager Ray Farmer took a wide receiver, selecting Washington State's Vince Mayle in the fourth round.

Farmer made 12 picks overall -- five on offense, seven on defense -- to bolster a team that was 7-4 last season before losing its final five games.

The Browns played it safe in this year's draft after making a splash in 2014, when they made three trades in the first round and moved up to take quarterback Johnny Manziel.

Although there was an expectation Farmer would look for a young QB to groom, he avoided a position that has perplexed the Browns for years. Cleveland has had 22 starting quarterbacks since 1999.
