WRGT-TV FOX 45 News :: News - Good Morning - Do's  & Don'ts For Your Wedding Registry

Do's & Don'ts For Your Wedding Registry

Register for at least 2 times as many gifts as guests (count couples as one guest). Guests will really appreciate having lots of choices when they shop for you. Don’t shy away from high priced items like a KitchenAid Mixer, Dyson vacuum or a set of All-Clad cookware, these make great group gifts!

As soon as you say “yes” make an appointment at a local Bed Bath & Beyond store to get a feel for the products that best fit your lifestyle. Friends and family will rely on the registry for special events leading up to the wedding—including engagement parties, showers and holidays, so get started early.

There are a few basic things every couple should register for, even if you already have them. Our registry experts can help you choose items from categories including Dinnerware, Stemware, Flatware, Giftware, Kitchen Electrics, Towels, Bedding and more!

Above all else, remember there is no such thing as a bad registry, as long as you register for the items you both really want that fit your taste and lifestyle. When you register at a Bed Bath & Beyond store, your dedicated registry consultant will answer all your questions and help build a registry that’s just right for you.
When registering, don’t just think about the present, also think about the future. For example, Fine China for future holiday gatherings or celebrations with friends & family. Also consider trading up your bedding with our Fine Linens selection so you can live every day in luxury.
In addition, remember the quantity of what you will need for each item. Our dedicated registry experts can help you decide the number of place settings or towels to get. See below for examples:
- Flatware & Table Settings – Register for enough sets of each to take you through a whole dinner sitting, from appetizers to desserts. Always add a few extra sets so you can go a couple days without running the dishwasher. Remember to account for the number of guests that will attend future dinners or holiday feasts, as well.
- Towels & Basic Bedding – Register for enough sets to last you until laundry day. General rule of thumb is keeping one on the bed (or in the bathroom), one in the laundry (or ready to be cleaned), and one in the linen closet. Remember to get enough for other bedrooms and bathrooms in the house.

Couples can now maintain their registries anytime, anyplace using the Bed Bath & Beyond Mobile App. This interactive app allows users to update their registries on the fly, learn about products and even scan pages from our registry books to add entire collections right onto their registries, all in two simple taps!
